May 20, 2024 — The music of Motown in the mind of Soraya Ashleigh, a sophomore studying music at ���Ĺ���, is on display with the release of her first song, “Tattoos.”

May 17, 2024 — From the land of Legos to the world of cutting-edge technology, Josh Thomas, a recent graduate of ���Ĺ���, has always possessed a keen interest in the art of building. This inherent trait led him to begin a career as a software engineer with Google.

May 16, 2024 — A sick young boy and his mother faced an early morning crisis at Dayton Children’s Hospital, and it was a devoted nurse who eased their pain. Now, the grateful mom’s nomination of Brittany Lawhorn Rhoads, a 2013 graduate from the ���Ĺ��� School of Nursing, was the impetus behind Rhoads receiving the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses during a ceremony on March 21 at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

May 16, 2024 — Stories are powerful, and telling them is an art. ���Ĺ��� students majoring in broadcasting, digital media and journalism spent their spring break helping Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) missionaries in Spain tell their stories for evangelistic purposes. The trip was part of Cedarville’s Global Outreach program that regularly sends students and faculty each year on mission trips.

May 15, 2024 — Dr. Kary Oberbrunner, the Berry chair of entrepreneurship at ���Ĺ���, will be speaking at the London Blockchain Conference on May 21-23. The international conference is expected to draw more than 12,000 participants. Oberbrunner will share on protecting intellectual property through blockchain, a trustless public ledger. He’ll demonstrate his new patented technology Easy IP, which protects intellectual property faster, easier and cheaper than traditional means,

May 14, 2024 — The Graduate School at ���Ĺ��� has established a new partnership with the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana (SCBI) that will offer higher educational opportunities for members of SCBI. The agreement allows SCBI members to receive a 15% discount on any of Cedarville’s online graduate programs or the residential Master of Divinity degree.

May 14, 2024 — Leigh Ann Meeks, a fourth-grade teacher at Tecumseh Elementary School in Xenia, Ohio, was selected by the faculty of Cedarville’s School of Education to receive the 2024 Excellent Educator of the Year Award for her excellence in the areas of collaboration, commitment to Cedarville’s mission, leadership and impact on preparing future educators.

May 13, 2024 — As he joins the staff at Google's headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he will collaborate with leading scientists and technicians, Joshua Thomas is steadfast in his belief that faith and reason are not mutually exclusive. He aims to build bridges with individuals who may harbor doubts about faith and Christianity, using his own life as a testament to their compatibility.

May 13, 2024 — Struggles are essential for future success. This is a lesson Felipe Mayta is learning as he studies economics and finance at ���Ĺ���. What once felt like a dream slipping away has turned into an opportunity of a lifetime for Mayta. The college junior from Peru was awarded a summer internship with the World Bank Treasury in Washington, D.C. — a role he will begin on May 28, 2024.

May 9, 2024 — At its annual May meeting, ���Ĺ���’s board of trustees honored the service of several long-standing faculty members — 50 years or longer — by unanimously naming residential facilities after them. Trustees also approved the appointment of 10 new faculty members for the 2024-25 academic year and affirmed a new six-year pathway for its Doctor of Pharmacy program.

May 9, 2024 — Divas are known for their amazing talent and temperamental self-importance. Ava Ramsey, a senior at ���Ĺ��� majoring in theatre, defies this stereotype. Ramsey, a gifted actress from Peoria, Illinois, quietly set a ���Ĺ��� record when she completed her 110thperformance on The DeVries Theatre stage with the close of “12 Angry Jurors” on April 21. Cedarville’s theatre program mounts three mainstage productions annually, each having a run of 10 performances. Students who graduate in four years can appear on stage a maximum of 120 times if they audition and are cast in every show — an unlikely scenario.

May 9, 2024 — International diplomacy is an exercise in tenacity and tact — qualities displayed by ���Ĺ���’s Model United Nations team, which received the Outstanding Delegation honor in the Model U.N. international competition in New York City. The closing ceremony was held at the United National General Assembly hall.

May 8, 2024 — It was a reunion for Viv Wheeler and her birth mom when the ���Ĺ��� sophomore visited Guatemala on a recent trip to her native country. It was the first time Wheeler met her birth mom, as she was put up for adoption in 2004 — a few months after her birth.

May 8, 2024 — Washington D.C. is not an easy place for outsiders, but one ���Ĺ��� student overcame the odds. Claudia Gemmel, a sophomore majoring in molecular biology, landed a spot in the fall 2023 D.C. semester and became an outlier among nine juniors and seniors majoring in history or government.

May 7, 2024 — Taking the gospel to the ends of the earth, a ���Ĺ��� student discovered her calling while sharing God’s love with those who need it the most — individuals incarcerated in an area jail. Marissa Lykins, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, found her passion through prison ministry.

May 7, 2024 — Building community is the goal of ���Ĺ��� freshman Will Woods, and he is using a new podcast to reach his objective. Woods, who is majoring in marketing, is the creator and host of a new podcast, dawoodz2, that can be listened to on all podcast providers. The New Florence, Pennsylvania student uses his own curiosity to create questions for guests that he hopes will help future college students be prepared for their own college experience.

May 7, 2024 — After four years of intense training and education through Cedarville’s Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps Program (AFROTC), John Thomson (Greenwood, Missouri), Brent Whitley (Raleigh, North Carolina) and Beavercreek, Ohio, residents Thaddeus Krueger and Matthew Crum were recently accepted into the highly competitive Air Force flight training program and are on their way to becoming pilots.

May 7, 2024 — More than a lemonade stand, ���Ĺ��� is giving high school students the opportunity to go beyond tradition as young entrepreneurs. Cedarville, in partnership with the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE), will host the inaugural ���Ĺ��� Entrepreneurship (CUE) camp on June 4-7, 2024. Students between 14-18 are invited to register before May 15.
